I just think these little "critters" are so cute from Lawn Fawn, and after taking the Online copic class, I can do a better job of coloring them, so I pulled out this "Winter Bunny" on the sled and have him heading down the slope!

A Very Trendy Holiday ~ using Metallics

My metallic is the Liquid Platinum EP by Rangers...
I sponged on some Distress Ink for the sky, then because I forgot I wanted to add stars, I added them afterwards and it actually worked out okay (phew!)
That cute little tree and sentiment are from Paper Smooches "Merry Motifs" I colored the tree with copics.

October Blog Hop

Today is the day for the PTI Blog Hop
You get to select the color recipe of your choice to make your holiday card.

PTI-Oct-Blog-Hop-Color-2
I kept mine pretty simple with lots of white.
Stamps:  Holiday Cheer
Dies:  One liners Collection

I spent most of the day in the gym watching Lily's VB end of season tournament.  They played for the championship and sadly lost, but it was a very close game!

A Very Trendy Holiday Geometric Style!

This time I was inspired by Tracey from In My Creative Opinion

I used the PTI Autumn Pattern Pieces in pure poppy and new leaf and added a strip of the same paper to the top and bottom.  Pretty simple and easy!
Thanks for the inspiration Tracey!

Seize the Birthday ~ Washi Tape

Hi Friends!  Are you ready to play with some Washi tape for your birthday card?  That is the topping for this
I actually used three different sizes and colors of washi tape and just added a simple round birthday tag and some sequins and called it good!  Even my side panels are strips of washi tape!

Our Topping option is "WASHI TAPE" OR...

You can go with "ANYTHING GOES!"
I hope you have seen the wonderful cards the other girls have for your inspiration...go check it out and make some birthday cards!

Make It Monday ~ Faux Stained Glass

Faux Stained Glass is the technique for this week's MIM
demonstrated by none other than Betsy Veldman!
I used the Shakers & sprinkles dies to make the shaker.
The stamps are from Tremendous Treats Birthday.  After coloring the sky with the copics, I put a little bit of the blender solution onto a rag and dabbed it over the sky to get rid of the streaks, but also to give the illusion of clouds...
Thanks for taking a look!

Make It Monday 184 gold dipped die cuts

The new Make It Monday is by Danielle and she has a very cool video along with three of her tags...go check it out!  She gold dipped her leaves and they look fantastic!  Her technique is dipping the edges of your die cut into versamark and then using gold embossing powder.  I needed a birthday card for my dad, he will be 93 on Saturday, so I pulled out Birthday Style and dipped the edges of the die cut balloon into the versamark and embossed with gold.  I also embossing the birthday and the little bubbles in gold.  the happy was cut from Phrase Play # 5 with Recollections gold paper.
I would love to play along again if I have time I really like how this looks...I especially loved Danielle's leaves and the buttons!

Clearly Besotted Challenge # 14 ~ Christmas!

The 14th Challenge is up for the Clearly Besotted Challenge and it is a Christmas theme!
I pulled out Pretty Poinsettia and inked it up with PTI pure poppy, I rolled the tips into some scarlet jewel, that is why it looks "dirty" on the edges, I guess I need more practice with the rock n' roll method! I added a strip of Glitzy Glitter paper from DCWV in green to the top and bottom.  The sentiment was stamped in memento cottage ivy.

Thanks for taking a look!

I have been dog sitting my daughter's dog while they are in Mexico.  They get home tomorrow night, Yeah!!
We love "Happy", but he is my shadow, I cannot move a foot without him getting up and following me...I try to tell him to stay put, I am only going a few feet, but he has to get up and tag along.
Now today I have their cat...I have been letting her outside (maybe more than they do, for purely selfish reasons...I don't have to clean out the kitty litter box...she does her business outside!)  Of course I don't leave her out for long...we are in the land of deer, coyotes, raccoons etc...I think today she was especially feeling lonely, so she followed me back to my house (we live next door) and she came inside, now she is jumping up on everything...walking in front of my face while I try to type...I think both these pets will be very happy when their family is back loving on them!!

Day 13 having more fun!

Jennifer showed us how to use die cuts and color them and apply them to a card.  I die cut Impression Obsession Birch Trees and Birds with white paper and then proceeded to color them with my copics.  For the birch trees I used W0, W2 and W4.  The little cardinals were colored with R20, R27 and R89.
My sky is done with Distress inks, Broken China and Seedless Preserves.  The snow or maybe stars were done with my white uni-ball Signo pen.
The fox was a little guy I colored early in the class and had never gotten around to putting him on a card.  I thought he would be perfect for this scene.
Thanks for taking a look!

Having fun on the last day of Copic Card Class

This is one class that I am going to miss!  Seriously learned a lot about copics, now we can play for a week and still load up our projects on the site and hopefully get some feedback.
I found this free digi from Marianne Walker's blog
She is another instructor for copic certification.
I thought I would give her a try and she was fun to color!

Seize the Birthday ~ No topping!

Thought I would try another shaker card.
I used my BFF's stamp set from Stamps of Life:.
The candles in this set are BIG and so awesome to play with.
I decided this could take center stage! the rest of the shaker card was made using the dies from the Make it Market Kit:  Shakers & Sprinkles.

Since this is a NO TOPPINGS Challenge this time, you can do anything you want!
I hope you will be inspired by the design team and join us for this two week challenge!

Go to Seize the Birthday and link up your card!

Day 12 Copic Storage

This last summer I was roaming through TJ Max and ran across this wooden cubby.  It is meant to lay flat on the back side, there are two rings for handles on the left and right sides...but I thought this would be perfect for my copics. (and I could use it the way it is intended and have the copics vertical instead of horizontal, but I couldn't have it on the shelf above me and still be able to see the colors.
The only thing better would be a stronger piece of plastic to separate the actual color families.  For example all yellows are in the same cubby space, but I separated the Y from the YR with a piece of heavy cardstock.
Up until this class I have had it on a shelf directly above my workspace and it was within easy reaching distance to grab the colors I needed.  Since I was doing a lot of coloring, I just brought the whole wooden cubby piece  down to sit on my desk.
I have a mixture of sketch and Ciao markers, I had to punch holes and write the number on the end of the Ciao markers as it was driving me crazy pulling out every one to see if it was the number I needed.  For now this is working for me and it looks like I still have plenty of room to add more colors in each cubby!!

Make It Monday Embossed and Dry Embossed!

There is a new Make It Monday video
and Dawn shows us a card with first embossing with powder, then using an impression plate to add a design to the card.
I actually did two, but didn't really like how the first turned out, so went back to the drawing board!
This is my second card.
I used PTI Meadow Greens and the Wood Grain impression plate.
I used zing powders in white, aqua and apricot.
The sentiment is from Asian Fusion.

okay, kind of embarrassed to show the first card, but here it is:
It just doesn't pop out like the first picture and the white powder was filigree, I wonder if it is old, because I had a heck of a time getting it to shine and dry.
Then there is the matter of the sentiment being crooked...and I think the IP is a little too busy.
Now you know why I decided to do a do over!!

Day 11 Copic Coloring

Day 11 is about Hiding your Mistakes!
I tried NOT to make many mistakes, did color outside the line and thought I fixed it all with the "0" Colorless Blender, but why is after the picture is taken and posted that all the blemishes just pop right out?
I also used the white pen to add some embellishments to the picture.
This is Funky Ashley Digi Stamp by Scrappers Delights.
Sorry for the poor picture, I have shadows today!

Day 8 Card for Copics Online Card Class

Debbie Hughes was a guest on the Online Card Class...she has a unique way to color and blend...I tried to follow her steps with softer looking flowers and leaves.
Jennifer did a unique cutting of the flower off the page and then for the background border she just took the same copic colors and spread it around the edge of the background card stock
so the edge colors would match with her flowers.
I used a Darice embossing folder for the background card base.
Thanks so much for taking a look!

Another Day 9 card...another Kristina demo

Yesterday I was just practicing coloring...this little one I purchased while in Phoenix this last summer and this is the first time I inked her up.  I was thinking this would be perfect for someone who is under the weather, or not feeling so good.
So after watching the videos today, I decided to finish her off with a sentiment the way Kristina showed (using W0, W2, W4) for the banner...the sentiment was one line, but I selectively stamped and made it into two lines so it would fit on my card!
BTW, this is a C.C. Design rubber stamp
"Maday Birgitta"

Thank you so much for taking a look and leaving me your words of encouragement.  They mean a lot to me!

Day 9 Backgrounds for Copics Online Class

I chose the easiest of the backgrounds to start with, Sandy Allnock demonstrated four different ones.
Here is my little Storybook bunny looking to the shooting star.
I colored him with W0,W2,W4,
My background is B 24, B28, B29.
I thought I was going to be clever and have a little yellow around the bunny, like a halo...but I didn't like how it blended with the blues, so I just colored over all the yellow...now it looks like a shadow in the night!
I tried spritzing some colorless blender onto my card and nothing happened...so I took my pen and touched the tip all around the card.  There is a shooting star in the stamp set, so that was perfect for this little bunny who is wishing upon a star!
My stitched square and stitched lines on either side of the bunny were made with Paper Smooches Stitched Frames dies.

Okay, off to try another one...will it be clouds? or bricks? or a sky?
hmmmm....

Online copics Class Day 9 Backgrounds

Today's class was all about backgrounds...this seemed the easiest and one that I could not mess up!  ha!
After spending a looong time coloring and then stamping my sentiment, I made a big black mark from my acrylic block that somehow managed to get the edge into the ink!  GRRRRRR
I tried Jennifer's trick with scraping it away with my craft knife.
That did NOT work at all.
I managed to salvage it by adding three hearts instead of just one!
This is a digi from Saturated Canary...Eva!
Oh, one other little thing I did was put a little "O" refill onto a small piece of an old wash cloth and dab it onto the "slippers/uggs" that she has on her feet...I just thought that would give it the texture it needed !  Hard to see in the picture, I know!
Here is what I used:
hair:  YR31, Y38, E35 (sparingly)
face:  E00, E11, R20
eyes:  BG10, BG72
dress:  RV10, RV04, RV13, C1
Uggs:  E00, E31, E35, E37
Balloon:  BG10,BG13, BG18
background:  C1, C2
sentiment:  PTI Make a Wish
Wow, that is a list isn't it?
Well, DH went to the Ducks game down in Eugene...it is a 7:30 game, so I have all night to color by myself without any interruptions!!

Heart Hugs, Friends!

Copics Class Day 8 a butterfly

I used a Crafter's Workshop stencil " Flower Piecing" with Rangers Texture Embossing paste.
I colored another butterfly with copics: BG 13, BG 23, BG 49 and Y15
the sentiment is from PTI Keep It Simple:  Thinking of You.
This class is keeping me busy!
I hardly have time to do anything but color!
But it is all good, I love it!!

Online Card Class Copics Day 8

Day 8 and Jennifer did some unique cutting of her image to have it go off the page.  Her background page was also colored with copics.  I colored all the balloons like we were doing in class, for most of them I used a W2 to help with the shading.  I loved adding this dimension to all the balloons.  A uni-ball Signo white pen was used for the reflection on the balloons.
I colored the bunny from Mama elephant exactly how we were shown to do it in class.
I figured this sentiment was good for a birthday card...or even a baby card!  And I colored the balloons all different colors this time instead of all blues or all pinks!
My background was stamped with PTI Background Basics:  tin Type.

Copics class and Tag You're It!

Day 8 of the Online Copics Card Class
Today we are using the images we colored and putting them on a card.

I love, love, love how this dog turned out...this was following along with how Debbie Hughes colors with her copics.
I fussy cut him out, then added him to a tag.
The background was watercolored with reinkers as was the background card.
I will be entering this card in the Tag You're It! Challenge #7

Tag you're it! # 7

is up over at the blog, here is the inspiration photo:

I am still making some fall/Thanksgiving cards, I pulled out an old Verve stamp set called Abundant Blessings.
Hope you all have a great day,
