One seed can start a garden, one candle can light a room, one step can begin a journey, one conversation can start a friendship, one smile from a handmade card can lift one's SPIRIT!

Another Simply Jane card for a friend

I have a friend whose birthday is coming up in 3 days, so I put together this little card using the silhouette from the Simply Jane stamp set from PTI.  Jane, btw, is Jane Austen, there are many really nice sentiments in this set...I am liking playing around with this one...

Simply Jane, Simple Sunflower and Flower Fusion

Just a 'simple' card for the Simply Jane stamp set...everything is PTI except the scallop die, it is spellbinders...wondering if I will need to get the oval die cut series from PTI because this just doesn't quite fit the way that PTI scallop oval die would...and their's is a smaller scallop also....hmmm. they planned it that way, didn't they?

I fell in love with this card here on Nichole's blog back in January...I do not have the Autumn Rose Ink, but it is going on my next order, for sure!  I really like this color combo with the avocado...I made a few changes because of product that I do not own, but basically it is a CAS.
I love  the bright look of this card, white, yellow read red...Betsy did a similar card using strawberries a her focal red spots.

PTI Anniversary Movers and Shakers Challenge Day 10 Card 2

Okay, I found one more card that was so cute, I couldn't resist making one...it is called a "waterfall card"  check it out:
The Biggest "Little Bitty Bird"...HELLO

The second largest "Little Bitty Bird"... FRIEND

The third largest "Little Bitty Bird"... HAPPY
The smallest "Little Bitty Bird"... BIRTHDAY

And the sentiment inside is from the Half & Half stamp set...so when you pull on the little bow, the individual squares all come falling down like a waterfall!!  This was fun to make!!

PTI Anniversary Movers and Shakers Challenge Day 10

Wow, so many cool things on the PTI blog today...this anniversary release is awesome and as usual, I think PTI has really hit a winner with this particular set of dies and stamps..check it out.here if you haven't been to Nichole's blog yet...there is still time to play along.

I had seen a video several  years ago that Jennifer McGuire did on a slider card...so I made one and this is my interactive card for the last day of the anniversary release contest:

PTI Anniversary Butterflies and Leaves Challenge Card 4

One final card for the anniversary challenge with butterflies and leaves...This is the With Sympathy stamp set...

PTI Anniversary Butterflies and Leaves Challenge Card 3

A little washi tape, and stamps from Flutterby Friends...can you tell I like this set?  The leaves I stamped and embossed with clear powder, the butterflies I stamped and embossed with white powder and colored over it with copic markers.

PTI Anniversary Butterflies and Leaves Challenge Card 2

I used to have a butterfly tree in my yard...and YES, it did attract butterflies...I always got so excited to see those bright colorful little winged friends flying by...such a delight...and the beautiful hanging purple flowers were just stunning...however....this tree became unmanageable..,.it spread, it grew where I didn't want it, the old trunk got very woody and rotten, so I finally cut it down and removed it...I may have to look at finding something that will not spread and can be contained, because not only did it attract the butterflies, but it brought in my  favorite little birds...the HUMMERS!!  For this card, I simply stamped the stem twice from Flutterby Friends and I used the butterflies from Butterfly Dreams and Round & Round Anniversary Set.

It's Your Day...celebrate with great joy and abundance of family and friends!

PTI Anniversary Butterflies and Leaves Challenge

Today is day 9 of the anniversary festivities for Papertrey.  Today Nichole showcased two stamp sets,  Beautiful Butterflies and Lovely Leaves...her cards are of course awesome.  The challenge is to make a card using leaves and butterflies...so here goes:
I used the two smallest  butterflies from Butterfly Dreams and the tree and leaves from Merry Little Christmas.  The sentiment is from Flutterby Friend.  Have you ever been to Pacific Grove, California where close to 25, 000 butterflies return every year?  I have been there, but not at the right time; you need to go in October when they migrate to that warmer climate.  I can just imagine that it is a spectacular site with butterflies every where..

Two More Valentine Cards

This was made with DP ...it is shiny and oh so pretty...I backed it with solid color hearts cut with an MFT die...simple and to the point!

Again I used the MFT heart dies...the smallest ones and lined them and stitched down the center.  The background paper is all from the words from this little MFT stamp set that I got for free at CHA last summer in Chicago.  It says:  I love YOU, YOU totally rock, crazy for YOU, YOU are loved, My heart belongs to YOU....all great little sentiments!

PTI Heart Challenge and Freshly Made Sketches

The festivities are in full swing over at the PTI blog...lots of inspiration and chances to win some free stamps.  Today's challenge was to make something with "hearts".  As I was putting this together I realized that it would also work for the Freshly Made Sketches. # 21 this week.

I am still with the Valentine theme as I need to send off three cards to my elderly Aunts...so here it is.  I used the Friendship Jar and the Friendship Jar Spring Fillers for the valentine heart candies, the sentiment is from Botanical Silhouettes.  All paper is from PTI.

Thanks for taking a look ...

PTI Hearts Challenge day 7

In honor of Valentines day and heart month, Nichole asked us to make something with hearts...it could be a card, heart out of felt, a heart shaped card...really anything...

The little girl is from MFT, I colored with copics and cut her out, she was holding a poppy, but I thought a heart balloon would be appropriate for this "heart" card.  The flower petal border is from Iconic images and the three little hearts are from Love Lives Here:  Holiday.  The sentiment is from Sending You stamp set.  All paper is PTI

Papertrey Ink Anniversary Day 6 #5 Sketch

Oops....I forgot the strip of paper that goes behind the sentiment...well, actually I like the card just fine the way it is and the strip may have taken away from the leaves.

Papertrey Ink Day 6 #2 Sketch

Sketch # 2 for the PTI anniversary celebration...I did a faux stitching with a white pen at the top...The image and sentiments are from Iconic Images.

Papertrey Ink Anniversary Day 6 #1 Sketch

The fun festivities are still going strong at the PTI blog.  Today we were given 5 sketches and we can make as many cards as we want, one thing on the card has to be from Papertrey Ink.  I chose the Simple Sunflower and stamped it with Summer Sunshine, I made my own 'banner' and I white embossed the sentiment from the Garden Variety stamp set.
