Make It Monday #19: Rock and Roll Technique

I like this technique because it brings a little more dimension to the image...Lisa Johnson from PTI demonstrated this technique for the Make it Monday Post.  I needed a graduation card from college card for my niece..so I thought I would put something together and use this rock and roll technique.  On this card I stamped with versamark on the background the flower from All About You.  I used the die from Sending You and then stamped the flower using the Summer Sunrise in the center and then highlighting the tips of the flower with Orange Zest.  I used Glossy accents on the center of the flower to give it a little dimension and shine.

Another Make It Monday #17: Cracked Glass Technique

I actually tried this one first and I thought I was gently bending the paper to crack it, but I ended up tearing it a bit, so then I went to the flower posted below, but I still liked the idea of the cupcake on this PTI tag, so I tried it again.  I think I need a bit more practice with this technique in order to get nice small cracks...I almost jumped out of my skin when I bent it the first time and all of a sudden there was a loud crack...kind of scared me!!  LOL!  So here it is again...I used the cupcake from Baby Button Bits and colored it with copics.  For the background I stamped some from the Make a Wish stamp set...presents and candles and the sentiment is also from that stamp set. 

Make It Monday #17: Cracked Glass Technique

I have used this technique one other time when I was taking a class at a local stamping store called  Stamp a dee do da in Milwaukie, Oregon.  (Yes, that is with an ie at the end, not ee from Wisconsin!!)  So I just happened to have a 50% off coupon and decided I would buy that large bottle of Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel from Michael's.  It took a few tries, but I am fairly happy with the results. 

I stamped with Year of Flowers:  Violets...twice so that I could cut out a portion of the violet.  I colored it in using some copics and then I embossed...three times just as Heather suggests in her video.  I used a circle nestabilities and stamped the larger of the two violets on that...my background paper was stamped with the Background Basics:  Twinkle.  I used other PTI designer paper and the birthday sentiment is from Blooming Button Bits.  I added three pearls, but I colored them with my copics to match the color scheme.

Here is a side view...a little closer up so you can see the cracked glass effect.  I rubbed on some PTI Chamomile ink into the cracks and then wiped it off.  Thanks for taking a look...and I think I will use this technique again...and I might even do it with just embossing one time and leaving it...it sure is pretty and shiny like glass when done just once!
