Merry Monday #253 and a Skating Bear!

Linda is our host this week and she is looking for bears on our Christmas cards
I had this NBUS stamp in my stash from Stampendous and it included a skating bear...score for me!  Super simple and very easy to make with some water color paper and my zigs.  I think it took about 5 minutes!

Go check out all the cute bears from the design team and we hope to see your card in the gallery!
We have one more week of challenges at the Merry Monday blog then we on the design team are all taking a summer break.  We will return on September 4!  But see you next week for our last challenge be sure to join us!

June Create Along With Us

I am playing with PTI Create Along With Us...when they have a release and it lands on a Monday, instead of an MIM, they ask us to make a card inspired by a NEW card focusing on the new release of stamps and dies!
Making Thyme Card
This is Lizzie Jones card that I am using as my inspiration... she is using the new Herb Garden kit.  I followed her card and used the same wood background and the Double ups rectangle die.
I used the Beautiful Berries: Spring and a sentiment from the Tropics set.
Thanks for stopping by friends!

Merry Monday #252 with a Photo Inspiration

Kathy gave us a great photo for inspiration in making our Christmas card this week at the
I saw the painted mason jars, greenery and all the red ornaments. I did like the chalkboard, but didn't incorporate that into my card.

PTI half pint Friendship jar, Spruce & Sprigs, WPlus9 Holiday Bough, Sunny Studios: Holiday Style
Won't you join us this week and get a big jump start on your Christmas cards?

The Challenge #86 A Sketch

There is a sketch up at The Challenge and I needed a birthday card for my two year old great nephew.
I pulled out an old PTI stamp Train Tracks, colored it up with copics and layered it up and calling it good!  I don't use a lot of pattern paper on my cards, usually a bit more CAS, but that is not to say I don't have plenty of pattern paper, so this is a very good way to be using some of it!

We had a wonderful day, the sun came out and was actually pretty hot when I was working out in the garden...trying to get things looking good for my grandson's graduation open house that I will host.
Tomorrow is my last day helping in my friend's kindergarten class...what will I do every Monday morning?  I think my summer is filling up with lots of activities!

CAS Watercolour JUNE Challenge & The Flower Challenge #9

And nothing says summer to me more than beautiful sunflowers!
I actually gold embossed the flowers and leaves and then used my zigs to watercolor them with yellow and oranges.  My sentiment is from PTI Quilted: Summer which I thought was very appropriate for this challenge.
The flowers are from Lawn Fawn: Our Friendship Grows
I was thinking of using the blue zig to color around the flowers, but I chickened out!
I am also entering this card in a new to me challenge called The Flower Challenge!
That is right up my alley because I LOVE making flower cards!
Happy weekend friends!

Water colored cards

I saw a video by Laurel Beard using the Zigs Clean Color Real Brush Markers and had to give it a try.  It was stunning and amazing!  And I love how mine turned out too!
I used WPlus9 Beautiful Bouquet: Mums and simply scribbled on some color in random places and then spritzed it with water.  Really, what could be easier...and I love the colors!  You do have to be a bit careful with the colors you use because you could get 'mud' if the wrong ones blended together!
This card is for a neighbor who is turning 60 and we are invited to an open house!
This is the same stamp set, different colors. And this is a BIG square, it will be hand delivered to my father, I think I will still make an envelope for the card though!
My father used to raise chrysanthemums and belonged to the Seattle Chrysanthemum Society.  My mom even made flower arrangements with them and entered them in their flower shows.  My father won the whole show one time with a huge show stopper and my mom won many ribbons for her flower arrangements. I thought this would bring back some memories and he would enjoy the card.
Go watch Laurel's video and then give it a try, seriously I am going to to do this for several other of the Beautiful Bouquets from WPlus9 that I have! It is so fun to see how each one turns out differently when applying different colors of the brushes and how much water your spritz onto the card too!

We have a rainy day, so I think I get to play some more!
Have a great weekend friends!
